Description
Operation Manager (experience in a line management function, preferably within the Electricity Transmission & Distribution Industry) Required within the North East area to manage the operational performance of the project delivery teams to achieve or better business area margin and EBIT targets.
Your role will involve:
? To resource manage and plan the recruitment and development of the project delivery staff required to deliver existing and future projects
? To actively initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve business area performance and profitability.
? Decides the estimating, procurement and delivery strategy and targets on all projects
? Liaises with suppliers and subcontractors in the selection, tendering and delivery phases of the project
? Set KPIs to monitor and achieve continuous project delivery performance improvements.
? Checking and signoff of project purchase requisitions, calc sheets, variations etc. as dictated by signature protocol
? Recruit new staff and contractors in accordance with recruitment plan and fluctuations in demand, to maintain high level of utilisation/ cost recovery

You will ideally be someone with the following:
? Formal qualifications to Degree level in Engineering related subject.
? Diploma / Masters in management related subject desirable.
? Experience in the management of multi-discipline engineering projects with site management experience desirable.
? Project and Contract Management experience essential.
? Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, particularly negotiating skills essential
? Knowledge of CDM Regulations / Current H&S legislation & Risk Management processes
? Good knowledge of Commercial/Contractual issues, inclusive of claim resolution
? Fully conversant in current Transmission & Distribution standards & technologies
? Knowledge of primary and secondary electrical design requirements desirable
