SENIOR APPLICATIONS ENGINEER / MIDLOTHIAN / TO £40K
Global leader seeks enthusiastic engineer with a blend of technical expertise, commercial awareness & customer focus is sought to join their Applications Team. Must have expertise in one of:
- Mixed signal circuit design
- Audio subsystems
- Low power/portable system design
- High performance audio system design
- High speed AFE system design
- Power management in battery powered systems
- Microphone technology
- Noise cancelling techniques
KEY SKILLS:
- Strong analytical skills/cognitive ability/logical approach to problem solving
- Excellent communicator; initiative to deal with evolving priorities/competing demands
- Able to translate complex product concepts into an easy to understand form
DESIRABLE EXP: Applications Eng in semiconductors; Customer facing engineering role; System Designer
DUTIES:
* 2nd line strategic technical support of FAE team ensuring new customer design wins & maintain existing customer design wins
* 1st line strategic technical support of key customers, remotely & at worldwide customer sites to ensure/maintain customer design wins
* Strategic support of Product Dev Project Teams to ensure products meet customer requirements, do not include previous design issues & are as easy to design in as possible
* Define/develop high quality technical collateral for new product development incl:
- Customer evaluation board (EVB) & supporting EVB software to allow customers to evaluate the performance of products.
- Evaluation board manual (EVM) enabling customers to use EVB
- Datasheet to describe products & uses
- Errata describing differences between product operation/datasheet spec
- Application Notes giving more detail on technical areas
- Technical Reports on technical issues to specific customers
- Specific technical data to support promotion of parts | | |
