RF DESIGN ENGINEER / CAMBRIDGESHIRE / £35K-£55K
Fabless semiconductor company delivering next generation wireless connectivity solutions for consumer electronics equipment such as PCs, printers, laptop computers, mobile phones & digital still cameras, seeks an RF APPLICATIONS ENGINEER for a key position creating consumer wireless product designs using integrated circuits that can be manufactured in high volume
ESSENTIAL:
- Good understanding of radio design, e.g filter requirements/matching circuits
- Electromagnetic simulation/analysis of RF circuit using CAD tools such as Ansoft HFSS
- Automating test equipment
- Interference/RF emission control on PCBs
- Modern digital radio transceivers, interactions with calibration, AGCs, ADCs, DACs
- Documenting work
- Able to travel to worldwide customer sites, solving RF design/production issues
- OFDM radio design
- Communications theory/effect of filters of signals/AGC operation
- Integration of radio circuits with mixed signal circuits (ADC/DACs) & digital signal processing
- National Instruments SW/ GPIB control of RF test equipment
- Antenna performance measurement
- WiFi, Bluetooth or cellular radio design
- Worked in fabless semiconductor company
- RF PCB design up to 10GHz
- Matlab/communications theory
The RF APPLICATIONS ENGINEER will design certifiable, production worthy radio solution using integrated circuits. Includes RF PCB design, selecting/specifying RF filters, selecting/specifying antennas, validating IC performance, ensuring designs are fit for consumer applications. Ideally capable of working with system architects to define the features of next generation products
