Description If you are a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer looking for a challenging and extremely rewarding career our client has the perfect position waiting for you.
You will be degree qualified and have a proven track record working within a design team with varied knowledge and experience in developing mechanical and electro/mechanical products with the ability to analyze designs to verify that products are fit for purpose.

Alternatively you will have knowledge of mechanical design for harsh environments, military or aerospace.
Main purpose of Job:
•Electro-mechanical product design orientated at seismic and offshore markets •Developing Mechanical and electro-mechanical products with an emphasis on handling systems, winches and boom cranes for seismic exploration. •Knowledge transfer to and supervision of more junior Design Engineers •Be the lead engineer of a design project •There may be requirements for face to face client meetings to perform testing and training on equipment as well as attending international trade shows in countries such as Holland, Norway and Spain.
Duties and responsibilities:
•Design enhancements to existing client products •Design of new products as and when required to include mechanical engineering design from functional specifications generated by sales •Installation, start-up and management of a design project •Maximise the contribution by our own Engineering Staff and outside contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget. •To identify problems and to work with all personnel to deliver affective resolution of same by taking appropriate action. •To have knowledge of, and to uphold and implement all relevant Health and Safety requirements on a personal basis. •To ensure quality is always in place, and instances of non-compliance are reported and acted upon. •To work within a Team, meeting regularly with the other team members and collectively accepting the responsibility for the day to day operation of the department. •To undertake such training as is viewed necessary by the company to improve personal performance or to meet the overall business objectives. •Testing and evaluation of equipment and/or process systems •Hold regular meetings with all relevant personnel to report upon the progress of project work
Qualifications:
•A degree in Mechanical engineering •Offshore / Marine installations and applications – There is flexibility on this. •Strong knowledge working within a design environment.
Additional qualifications desirable for the role:
•BOSIET offshore safety course. •CAD systems – Pro/Engineer preferable •Project Management
