Description As the Project Engineer you will be surrounded by some of the best engineers designing products for the marine oil and gas industry. Your role will be project manage the product development cycle.
You will be the liaison between the UK design facility and the production facility in Singapore; you will be responsible for defining the initial product requirements of the mechanical and electro/mechanical handling systems in addition to the estimating, planning and managing off-site equipment installations. Frequent international travel will be required.
The main emphasis of the role will be placed on the design and development of handling systems, mechanical and electro mechanical winches and boom systems for off-shore marine seismic exploration.
Main Purpose of Job: •Project manage handling system product design orientated at seismic markets •Estimating, planning and installation of handling systems at client’s facilities / vessels •Design and develop handling systems with a small engineering team
Duties & Responsibilities: •Installation, start-up and management of a design project •Estimation, planning and project management of client specific handling system equipment •Maximise the contribution by our own Engineering Staff and outside contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and to budget. •To identify problems and to work with all personnel to deliver affective resolution of same by taking appropriate action. •To have knowledge of, and to uphold and implement all relevant Health and Safety requirements on a personal basis. •To ensure quality is always in place, and instances of non-compliance are reported and acted upon. •To work within a Team, meeting regularly with the other team members and collectively accepting the responsibility for the day to day operation of the department. •To undertake such training as is viewed necessary by the company to improve personal performance or to meet the overall business objectives. •To be flexible and provide cover if required and during any periods of planned overtime. •Testing and evaluation of equipment and/or process systems •Hold regular meetings with all relevant personnel to report upon the progress of project work •Keep up to date with technology developments relative to the industry.
Qualifications/training essential for this role: •A degree in Mechanical engineering •Offshore / Marine installations and applications •Strong working knowledge within a product design / project management environment Qualifications/Training desirable in this role: •BOSIET offshore safety course. •CAD systems – Pro/Engineer preferable •Project Management
