Description Project Planner / Scheduler – Defence Projects – MS Project / P3e planning - £38k – West Sussex
Working within the project office as part of a team, the Project Planner/Scheduler will be working on large defence systems programmes, liaising closely with project managers and programme managers to create and maintain the Programme Plan and associated reporting. This is a key role within the company to provide the support necessary to achieve programme planning and reporting objectives and to ensure that standards are used and reporting schedules adhered to.
The Project Planner’s key activities will include: •The creation and maintenance of components of the programme plan in P3e, incorporating plans for design, development, service, testing, training and deployments; •Generating ‘what if?’ scenarios to check impact of schedule changes; •The promotion of planning standards and guidelines; •The creation and maintenance of regular internal and export project and programme reports; •Pre-planning and highlighting of problem areas during schedule updates.
Applicants should have in depth experience of management report creation and of working in a project planning / programme planning / scheduling role using MS Project and P3e planning.
Excellent skills required in MS Office including Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of working on large projects/programmes with a sound knowledge of development / implementation lifecycles. The project planner should also have the ability to foresee and avoid problem areas, to prioritise workloads and manage multiple concurrent activities.
