Project Sales and Marketing Manager – Sensors – Oil Drilling – European Accounts
Basic salary to £50K plus package
South East base.
European Project Sales Manager sought for significant multinational engineering company. Operating within the European region and representing their Far Eastern headquarters, the business holds a large order book from the oil drilling tool manufacturing sector.
Primarily you will be concerned with retaining the existing accounts and exploiting new opportunities in this sector and region. Reporting to the General Manager, your responsibility covers the entire sales process: initial contact with customer’s engineering teams, product introduction, specification and evaluation, performance monitoring and management of ongoing technical and engineering support. Typical orders can be a few hundred thousand Euros, highlighting the importance of these sensor components within the drilling equipment machinery.
This is very much a technical engineering role, rather than a commercially biased sales position. A background in engineering or applications would be particularly suitable.
Beyond the oil drilling tool market, your future product and market development is likely to be within the marine, aviation and high end electronic engineering sectors. Their sensor and component product suite includes accelerometers, gyroscopes and various directional modules, as well as a full engineering back up and support service.
Preferred applicants will hold an engineering degree (mechanical or electronic based), and have 5 years experience within design or field based applications. Their sales work will have included oil drilling market and / or sensors applications.
Applicants must be comfortable with 50% of time on travel and have an appreciation of international culture in business. Operating base will be from the company’s office in the South East, likely two days per week; therefore home locations should be appropriate - likely as far north as the Midlands.
