Engine Technologies Europe is part of the Technology Division, which has global responsibility for developing technology to support future product needs. Many exciting technologies are being developed to support future engine and machine product including low exhaust emission technologies, high efficiency powertrains etc.
The Role:
Development and calibration of 0D/1D engine models. The ability to link engine models to hydraulic and control system models will be medium to longer-term expectations. Improvement of existing 0D/1D sub-models or development of new sub-models to improve predictive accuracy will be required in the medium to long term
You will be required to work with engine performance engineers and simulation tool developers to apply accurate engine models to achieve optimum performance and emissions. In the medium-term, you will work with internal and external tool developers, universities and industrial partners to improve the predictive accuracy of the 0D/1D tools by developing, implementing and validating new sub-models
Requirements:
Engineering or equivalent technical degree minimum, MSc or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in engine performance simulation is preferred
Expertise in diesel engine performance, understanding of fuel injection systems, air systems and pollutant formation
Experience developing 1D engine performance codes will be an asset
Prior experience with using tools like GT Power, Ricardo Wave or AVL Boost, Matlab, Simulink would be beneficial. C programming proficiency will also be beneficial
