The goal of the Emissions Systems Integration team is to generate Tier 4 Aftertreatment solutions with high commonality that can be integrated into machines and engine applications.
The Role:
You will be responsible for leading Tier 4 Emission System Integration with Machine and Industrial Engine Product Groups for both engine applications. This will require coordination of ‘Voice of the Customer’ and ‘Voice of the Business’ for the specific application whilst providing project leadership and technical direction in the design, development, integration and validation of a Tier 4 Engine Emissions Solution You will also be responsible for executing the NPI process to meet customer needs for performance, emissions, reliability and durability including sign-off of the aftertreatment system in the customer application. This will require coordination of activities with the Emissions System Integration Teams based in the UK and the US. The Emissions System Integration team will be comprised of technical specialists and design support personnel to help meet Tier 4 program deadlines, NPI process requirements, product cost targets and quality requirements (QCLDM).
You will be working in close coordination with the current Engine Applications teams who will retain the overall commercial relationship with their customers. It is expected that the customer will see the Emissions Integration Applications Engineer as the expert for Aftertreatment system solutions. Because of this, excellent customer interface skills and customer focus is a must. It is expected that customers will challenge every aspect of this technology and the need for our very strict design and validation standards so the Applications Engineer will need to be able to respond to these challenges
This is an externally facing position that will require travel to the customer facilities to understand and document customer requirements and provide emissions solutions expertise. Also, for key parts of the customer development program (machine builds, synergy events) this may require spending time with the design teams at the customer site
Requirements:
Batchelor Level Degree or Equivalent Experience minimum, Masters Level Mechanical Engineering Degree desirable
Relevant experience in design, testing or research
Engine and/or Aftertreatment design and development experience desirable
6-Sigma Black Belt Experience desirable
Self-starter with good interfacing skills with internal and external customers
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely in writing and presentations as well as with | | |
