Description Job Specification and Responsibilities: · Project Leader of Mechanical Design section of R&D. Responsible for delivery of quality designs on time and within budgets agreed with customer.
· Supervision and direction of role of design engineers within projects. Responsible for allotting, supervising and directing specific project based activities.
· The role is multi-disciplined involving liaison, meetings and design work across all company functions – internal and international.
· Point of contact with the customer on all Packaging/Mechanical interface to the vehicle issues on projects.
· Frequent travel to customers to attend review meetings.
· Mechanical Design Project Management from design to tooling through to volume production. Supplier interface.
· Creation of costings, D&D quotes and timing plan generation for Mechanical design sections of proposed new projects.
Job Description · The successful candidate will join an experienced R&D team within the company. This role involves the coordination, design and development of complex automotive components to contain a variety of Automotive Electronics products.
· Ideally the candidate will have previous experience using 3D CAD tools, preferably Catia V5 R17
· This role requires a high degree of Innovation and creativity and will involve Supplier
· Management activities, interaction with OEM Customers and other Departments within the company.
· A broad knowledge of plastic, casting and prototype manufacturing methods is a distinct advantage.
· You will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering combined with a minimum of 5 years post qualification relevant industrial experience.
