Job Description:
The position will serve as a project engineering expert in the Company’s Nutritional Supply Chain (ANSC) Europe regional organization. A key focus of the role will be to develop and apply advanced theories, methods and research techniques to the investigation and solution of complex technical problems on a global basis. You will also collaborate across divisional and corporate boundaries as required. Other aspects of the role include providing discipline guidance and direction to external engineering resources. You will be assigned specific relevant global engineering problems. This role requires unique, innovative design/research approaches, which vary from standard techniques and procedures.
Primary Function / Primary Goals/Objectives:
To provide the necessary Engineering support & services to manufacturing departments across the European nutritional sites
Provide technical consultation to sites to help resolve issues both during projects and routine manufacture as they arise in conjunction internal site resources.
Provide project technical support during Bidding/Negotiation and Construction phases of projects.
Be responsible for interpretation of design intent of bidding and contract document packages.
Perform key role in the start-up of new facilities and equipment) Develop scope, design and Cost Estimates on process improvement projects. Work with sites to develop requests for capital expenditure)
Liaise with site Engineers to develop Site specific strategies to optimise processing activities in light of evolving business challenges.
These activities should drive efficiencies and return tangible savings to the division Establish with the Engineering Manager the departmental goals, schedules and timetables for activities.
Work as Project lead/Team member working with local teams and / or outside consultants as required on projects)
Maintain clear communication lines with all sites to ensure consistent deployment of best in class practices and equipment)
Plan and schedule work in accordance with plant demand and available resources.
Work with the Plant staff to ensure you are the principal point of contact that will allow them to access division resources to resolve day to day issues that may arise.
Major Responsibilities:
Developing projects in a strategic manner to deliver gains to the Division
Delivering Cost Estimates that are accurate and realistic so that each project can be completed in a compliant, value for money fashion
Providing technical support to the sites
Contributing to the organization and planning of the division's engineering group
Managing capital and non capital projects across the division as required.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
A minimum of seven years relevant engineering experience
The ability to work to a high standard with minimal supervision
Flexibility with regard to duties and location· Good mental ability to logically follow a line of though for problem solving.
Strong computer skills.
Accountability/Scope:
Project cost Estimates returned should be accurate, comply with all standards and regulations and represent value for money to Company
Responsible for the success of each project worked on
Work with the Plant staff at each location to ensure the best outcome for the corporation
Manage major Capital Projects greater than $5MM
Education Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline
