Description
Position summary:
As Operations / Engineer Manager you will have ultimate accountability and ownership to deliver manufacturing business unit success. The team consists of engineers, team leaders, line co-ordinators, technicians and operators
Key Responsibilities:
· Plans, manages and controls department performance by establishing overall direction and priorities, using goals & metrics.
· Acts as an interface between production and other product related functions. Drives and promotes quality workmanship and continuous improvement in all manufacturing processes
· Financial discipline and compliance to site budget & customer agreed cost models
· Successful continuous improvement methodology in operation and delivering continuously improving measurable business results
· Ensure retention of all external, professional standards, e.g. ISO
· Management of resources
Education & Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience. Engineering related discipline preferable
· Seven to ten years relevant experience
· Experience in production management, maintenance and engineering management is a distinct advantage
· Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers
· Previous people management / team management experience within 7 x 24 industry
· Strong financial understanding of costing, profit/loss, etc
