Description Job Description: Ensure the plant meets its customer quality, service, regulatory, financial and safety goals for Fill / Label / Kitpack area through the effective management of the technical operations teams. Directly supervise the work force in his / her assigned area, thus ensuring that production targets in terms of quality, quantity, safety, wastage and mix are attained. Ensure awareness, and compliance to Environmental Health & Safety standards, regulations and procedures. Promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Major Responsibilities: Maintain the necessary resources within the Operations teams to provide high quality, safe and effective diagnostic products. Ensure that all Operations personnel receive the relevant training to perform their job. Ensure that training needs are identified; training plans are agreed and completed on time. Set goals using Performance Excellence format and conduct regular appraisals using the PEX format to document conclusions. Liaise with Supply Chain personnel to agree Production Schedule. Manage Operations resources to execute Production Schedule responsibilities on time. Recommend / implement improvements to standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement in safety. To ensure applicable GMP and GLP requirements are maintained. Ensure that the plant meets the quality requirements of our customers, internal quality systems, internal & external auditors and other external agencies. To work in concert with the technical support team to identify, document, investigate and remedy the cause of product non-conformance in compliance with site CA/PA system requirements. To ensure prompt attention of the Technical, Manufacturing & Quality Managers in areas of risk in the production or Quality Systems operations which might have an adverse effect on product and / or safety. Ensure compliance with manufacturing strategies associated with Level III Complaint Investigations. Lead activities in the preparation of the annual departmental budget. Identify and implement cost reductions that do not adversely impact product quality. Optimise the use of human resources by encouraging an atmosphere of involvement, open communication and effective teamwork. Ensure all employees, including those not under his/her direct supervision, comply with all company rules and regulations. Keep product goals closely aligned with those of the Operations Team to ensure that the products and processes are optimised in terms of both quality and production. To ensure that training via the ETMS TO DO list is completed in a timely manner. Conduct business in a manner that will protect human health, safety and the environment by complying with all applicable EHS laws, as well as the Company’s Global & Technical Standards.
Skills/Experience Requirements: Advanced leadership skills in order to build an effective team by providing clear direction and defining priorities. Self Starter with proven problem-solving skills. The ability to work co-operatively and effectively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships. The highest level of integrity in the successful completion of your work.
Education Requirements: A Bachelor degree or higher in a relevant Life Science, Engineering or Production discipline with six years experience in a highly regulated healthcare-manufacturing environment of which three years involved people management responsibility | | |
