Description
Renishaw are currently seeking to employ a Technical Author. This position is intended to support the Renishaw machine tool software business through the production of compelling and targeted material. The machine tool division brings several world class software products to the industry, and seeks an individual who can apply their skill to produce material for internal use, and sales/marketing material suitable for our customers.
KEY OUTPUTS AND DELIVERABLES:
• Supporting the MTP Software Business Manager by developing a portfolio of sales and marketing material
• Maintaining all software related literature in line with the latest versions of the software products
• Investigating and developing new materials as appropriate for a software product
All applicants are required to have the following:
• The ability to demonstrate an appealing and approachable style when describing technical products
• A creative attitude, with an enthusiasm for targeting end users with appropriate materials
• A proven track record of producing supporting materials for the software industry
Although not essential, it is also desirable if applicants have the following:
• Knowledge of international CAD/CAM software markets
• A skill set encompassing traditional and new media formats
• Ability to self start with a combination of hardware and software technologies
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The successful applicant for this position will have an enthusiasm for software products, and an ability to identify the key benefits of a technology from the customer point of view. This individual needs to be able to pick up existing materials and to form them into a coherent, customer focused package.
Initially working closely with the MTP Software Business Manager to define the core objectives and strategy, the development of new ideas will be a key part of the role. The confidence to see these new ideas through to completion will be a critical part of making the role a success.
This role has considerable scope for future development over time, so we are looking for an individual who can bring vision and direction to the outbound marketing content of the MTP Software product range.
LOCATION:
This role is based at the New Mills site at Wotton under Edge, Gloucestershire.
