ROLE - CALIBRATION ENGINEER / CALIBRATION INSPECTOR / CALIBRATION TECHNICIAN
SECTOR - PRODUCTION ENGINEER AEROSPACE
BASED - THURMASTON, LEICESTERSHIRE
SALARY - circa. £16,230 PER ANNUM
• THE OPPORTUNITY -
Working in one of Leicester's largest production engineering environments, specialising in the production of Aerospace parts as a 1st tier supplier to some of the global manufacturers that include Airbus, Boeing and Westlands; we are now in a position to invite applications for a Calibration Engineer / Calibration Inspector / Calibration Technician with previous experience within a production or manufacturing engineering environment.
• ABOUT THIS POSITION -
- the calibration of all main types of internally calibrated inspection equipment to required standard, and determining appropriate action with non-conforming equipment.
- maintenance of accurate records of calibration using computerised and manual systems.
- retrieval of inspection equipment from point of use and cleaning of the same in preparation for calibration.
- act as point of contact for manufacturing to maintain adequate measurement capability and capacity, and inform supervision of shortfalls.
- other Quality Department duties as required by supervision
• ABOUT YOU -
- experienced dimensional or calibration inspector.
- ability to work to fine tolerances using specialised inspection equipment.
- ability to work unsupervised in areas of proficiency.
- ability to accept or reject inspection equipment within areas of proficiency
- knowledge of relevant customer and national standards, Quality Instructions and Inspection Instructions.
- ability to keep required records, and ensure the security of the calibration database.
- ability to communicate decisions and problems to other departments as required.
- ability to advise manufacturing cells on gauging issues
All shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in a PPA test along with a General Intelligence Assessment that has been specifically designed for this client.
