Research and Development Manager, c£50k, New Zealand

Our client in Auckland provides both R&D and manufacturing support to local and international animal health companies. A recent expansion of our facility plant has made them one of the most modern animal health pharmaceutical manufacturing plants in the world.
With a vision to be the leading provider of new product development and manufacturing services to the international health industry, they are currently seeking an experienced R&D Manager to join and lead their comprehensive R&D team.
Reporting to the CEO, as the R&D Manager, you will have full autonomy in running the Research and Development Department of 17 people, providing leadership and knowledge in a broad range of ongoing product and process development projects.
You will have a strong technical knowledge and proven leadership in both research and in applying developed products and processes into manufacturing. You will also have knowledge of current regulatory and cGMP/GLP requirements (both FDA and EU-based) with respect to development and implementation of new products.
The successful candidate will ideally possess the following attributes:
* Tertiary qualification in Microbiology, Biochemistry or Chemistry
* Minimum of 10 years practical experience working in formulations development or allied activity.
* Minimum of 5 years management experience
* Comprehensive understanding of the CMC requirements governing the pharmaceutical development process
* Detailed knowledge of the practices and principles of GMP/GLP compliance as applied to the manufacture and testing of pharmaceutical products
* Strong and professional interpersonal and relationship building skills
* Computer literate
* Attention to detail
