Description
Renishaw are seeking to recruit an Electronic Design Engineer to work in our Machine Tools Products Division. The individual in this position will be required to design electronic systems and circuits for the radio product range.
KEY OUTPUTS AND DELIVERABLES:
• Involvement in circuit design and some PCB layout work
• Preparation of schematics and design specifications
• To build, test and commission prototypes
The work for this role goes beyond normal electronic circuits and will include both RF (Radio Frequency) and FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) work.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:
All applicants for this role are required to have the following:
• An engineering qualification of either an HND or a degree (or an equivalent qualification)
• Familiarity with electronic test equipment, with good practical and analytical skills
In addition, it is useful if applicants have the following:
• Knowledge of PIC processors, embedded software and/or RF design
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The successful applicant will need to show that they have the confidence and ability to work in small teams, with good initiative. It would also be useful if the individual would be able to specify work packages for technicians.
LOCATION:
This role is based at the New Mills site in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
