Purchasing Operations Engineer



The Parts Logistics Division is split into two main areas and is responsible for management and delivery of components for the Production process. Developing operational, quality, and cost improvements. Ensuring all orders are correctly placed and that all component packaging meets environmental and ergonomic guidelines.



Operations Parts Delivery

This area is responsible for the management of component parts collection, and on time delivery. This is managed by dealing with a large number of suppliers and their agents and nominated receiving warehouses. This is to ensure any supply chain problems are resolved and the production line can run smoothly.



Logistics Planning

This area is split into three key sections, Supply Chain Planning, Parts Ordering and Packaging Operations.

The Supply Chain Planning section develops new logistics strategies to deliver continuous improvements of delivery, cost and quality.

The Parts Ordering section ensures all components are ordered correctly and meet production requirements.

The Packaging Operations section ensures suppliers' packaging is maintained for a safe working environment that meets ergonomic guidelines and incorporates the latest tracking systems.



Key Role & Responsibilities

Liaise with the Operational team to gather data on a daily basis based on production results.

Analyse data so that it can be processed on in the appropriate format (data sheets, graphical representations) and to produce TQM reports.

Develop and maintain operational team systems and reports.

Report on: delivery variances (under shipments and over shipments), wrong first time issues, process improvement requests and downtime.



Qualifications:

HND / Degree in an Engineering discipline

Clean drivers licence



Experience:

Proficient in the use of VBA, SQL and HTML computer languages

Advanced level of Powerpoint and Excel

Confident in making presentations to all levels of staff
