Description Bid Finance Analyst / Bid Controller – Aerospace/Defence. The Bid Finance department plays a key role in the Bid Management process, providing the financial integrity of the bid. The department is part of the Finance team reporting to the Financial Director. Being part of the Bid Team.. Primary Purpose of the Role – The Bid Finance Analyst will be responsible for the financial assessment of technical and other work packages against target costs through the bid process and to ensure the financial integrity of bids. You will liaise closely with the following departments - Project, Engineering, Production, Procurement, Sales, Contracts and Finance. Key Tasks – The Bid Finance Analyst will be responsible for tasking and co-ordination of multifunction estimating teams, setting and agreeing cost targets against technical and other work packages, providing guidance and assistance to estimating teams, reviewing and agreeing cost and time-scale data, quantification of risk and uncertainty. Profiling of cost data and cash flow analysis. Supporting supplier and customer price negotiations, including MoD Cost audits. Undertaking the presentation of cost proposals to Senior Management, and Directors. Technical & Professional skills required – The Bid Finance Analyst will have a background in programme or subcontract management, engineering, business administration, or costing. Knowledge or Experience of working in an engineering environment would be preferable. Education & Qualifications - Educated to Degree/HNC level in technical discipline. Personality / Behaviours - Able to act on own initiative, with minimal supervision. Highly motivated team player who can interface at all levels in the Company. Ready to challenge rather than accept, to better understand issues. Effective written and verbal communicator. Additional Information -Other areas of knowledge/ that are desirable: 1. Experience of proposal preparation, 2. An understanding of commercial and financial aspects of business. Bid Finance Analyst / Bid Controller – Aerospace/Defence.
