Description PIPING ENGINEER STEAM GENERATORS – NEW BUILD POWER PLANT NOTTINGHAMSHIRE
A talented Engineer is now required to join the Steam Generator team of this leading energy company. The role as Piping Engineer comprises a mix of site and office based work encompassing design, troubleshooting and project management activities. The successful candidate will be required to perform the role of Piping Engineer for the Steam Generator package of work on new build power projects and power station refurbishment projects.

It is an exciting time for them, supporting their build programme with the construction of highly modern, environmentally friendly generating plants and renewable energy investments.
Your main responsibilities as Piping Engineer will include the preparation of specifications for the design, supply and installation of power piping and ancillary components (valves, hangers etc.) to recognized design codes / standards (ASME, EN, PED etc.) and company specific requirements. You will lliaise with internal and external technical specialists in the fields of welding, metallurgy, quality assurance etc. to define specific project requirements and for the purposes of troubleshooting. You will undertake tender assessment of supplier offerings, definition and management of piping quality surveillance requirements to cover design, manufacture and site installation. Furthermore you will be responsible for the project management of piping projects from contract placement to installation and commissioning to ensure delivery of work scope to time, cost and quality. You will also provide technical advice in relation to piping design and maintenance for both new and existing installations.
The ideal candidate will have a good appreciation of metallurgy, welding and NDT techniques applicable to power piping. You will be competent in the design of piping including flexibility analysis to recognized design codes (ASME B31.1; EN 13480 etc) and have a fundamental understanding of the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive.
