Job Title: Senior Buyer
Location: North Wales

A hi tech engineering company specialising in opto mechanical solutions across a number of cutting edge industries are looking for a senior buyer. Ensuring best supply chain practise the senior buyer should be experienced within a technical purchasing role.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be able to develop the following strategic opportunities:
Development of preferred suppliers
Leverage of Group Purchasing opportunities
Identify alternative low cost sources for existing purchased components
Maximise the efficiency of the Purchasing and Supply Chain
Effectively manager the expenditure in line with planned margins and budgets
Lead and promote supplier development programmes to improve the supply
base capability, delivery and quality performances
Manage and monitor the supplier performance rating programme leading to
improved delivery and quality performances
Proactive problem solving through forward thinking and innovative solutions
Personnel Specification:
Applicants will be professional purchasing specialists and have worked within a manufacturing environment. Ideally within a defence, aerospace or automotive sector. Candidates will have a proven track record in managing and developing supply chains operating within a high technology environment.
Applicants will be educated to degree standard with CIPS qualification or equivalent.
It would be advantageous to have extensive knowledge of ERP systems and knowledge of ITAR, international export controls.
The following attributes are also essential for this role:
Excellent organisational skills.
Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office
The ability to work under pressure and meet demanding deadlines
Proactive problem solving through forward thinking and innovative solutions
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the
organisation
