Vacancy : Electronic Design Engineer
Location : North wales
Salary : Negotiable
Key Responsibilities:
Candidates will be responsible for specifying, designing and developing concept, prototype and
production electrical and electronic assemblies and embedded software modules used within Qioptiq
products. Typical electronics applications relate to high accuracy digital position control systems and
imaging and display drive electronics. The role is a wide ranging role, incorporating many aspects of
Electrical and Electronic Engineering with the emphasis on digital design.
Personnel Specification:
Applicants will be familiar with EMC, Servo Control and Analogue Design, High speed digital
design techniques utilising FPGAs DSPs and microcontrollers.
A knowledge of VHDL and implementing complex high speed algorithms in FPGAs would be
useful as well as the ability to specify, design, produce and test software.
Familiarity with Mentor CAD/CAE packages would be advantageous.
It is essential that candidates are able to work closely with other design engineering disciplines
and manufacturing personnel.
A general knowledge of optics, displays and CCD technology is desirable.
Candidates will be self motivated and have the ability to work on all phases of a project, from
initial customer meetings to production support.
The ability to represent the company at all levels internally and externally will be developed on
the job.
It would be deemed essential to be able to communicate technical information in a clear and
concise manner to non electrical specialists.
