Job Outline:
The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for identifying, developing, winning and maintaining business with key Customers to achieve and maintain preferred supplier status. The position is based in North Wales with some international travel.
Key Responsibilities:
Develops close customer working relationships ensuring that new and repeat orders are obtained.
Provides the customer with the appropriate levels of post contract support, utilising and negotiating the Company resource as appropriate in a manner that balances the needs of the company and its customer.
Leads the preparation and submission of bids, quotes or proposals by defining the “winning” approach (price, commercial, technical etc), coordinating the Company resource.
Leads cross-function problem solving teams to address commercial, technical or manufacturing issues associated with Key Account programmes.
Represents the Company at all levels within the customer community, ensuring the interests of the company are both promoted and protected.
Ensures that SIMS is maintained, giving the organisation full visibility of potential orders.
Provides an input for strategic business planning as required.
Understands and fully complies with the national and international export, import and ITAR rules and legislation.
Adheres to all Company Operating Procedures.
Personnel Specification:
Ideally applicants should have a good working knowledge of the capabilities of a defence company with a background in manufacturing or engineering and sound commercial acumen, with a positive track record of achievement in their current role.
Candidates must be confident with excellent communication skills and will have the ability to represent the company at all levels. Experience of operating and communicating effectively within international cultures would be advantageous.
The successful individual will need to be motivated, responsive and focussed with a high level of attention to detail.
Applicants will be literate, numerate, and conversant with all Microsoft Office applications and ideally have working knowledge of a production control system.
Candidates should have knowledge of Bid and Programme Management procedures.
It is essential all applicants possess a full driving licence and passport, and have the flexibility to travel internationally (occasionally at short notice) for extended periods of time.
