Description
This Project Manager position for Cummins Power Generation in Kent involves leading cross-functional teams to deliver Commercial lines of business VPI (New and Existing Product Introduction) projects from Charter through to launch to project closure whilst meeting schedule, product cost and quality objectives.
Duties include leading, managing and coaching indirect reports across multiple functions and sites to deliver projects, contribute to best practice approach to team work, encourage and develop creativity in the way we approach project implementation and documentation using 6Sigma methodology to improve processes and through working on a global basis with the Project Management Functional Excellence Forum, contribute to maintaining the Commercial product plan and provide project status information in a timely and accurate manner as part of Synchronised Business Planning and for Senior Business Leaders as part of Phase Gate Reviews. The role also involves holding regular project reviews, identifying, managing and mitigating risks to project delivery, identifying issues and facilitate diverse teams finding and implementing solutions, track issue resolution to ensure project objectives are not impacted, monitor and report on product cost objectives, ensure project design meets external and internal customers’ needs and work closely with other functional groups to eliminate barriers that may impact on the program / project results.
All applicants should be degree qualified or have a professional project management qualification, have Engineering experience / experience working within an engineering environment and also preferably have an MBA or other general business experience at this level. Applicants should also have demonstrable product introduction Project Management experience, cross functional management and proven project delivery.
