Systems Engineer – Applied Controls
Belfast, Northern Ireland
Salary to £45K + Benefits
Required to play a prominent role in leading the Control Engineering and Algorithm Development activities on key projects. The position will entail the design, development and optimisation of analogue or digital controllers on a variety of applications ranging from servo-mechanical weapon launch platforms to missile autopilots. The role will require the Control Engineer to provide innovative and novel solutions to a wide range of control related problems. The role is highly simulation intensive and will entail significant elements of model development including real time and non real time.
Control Systems Engineers should have experience in the design, development and implementation of control engineering algorithms. This should include significant experience in the use of simulation and design tools – preferably Matlab / Simulink. Candidates would also be expected to have significant experience in the simulation of complex systems, including integration and verification of hardware-in-the-loop components. The successful candidate will be expected to apply control expertise across a range of projects.
Skills should include demonstrable experience with a broad spectrum of control and estimation techniques used in aerospace applications, digital/analogue control, modelling and simulation applications. Any knowledge of the following is advantageous: C, C++, Automatic Target Tracking, Missile Guidance and Control, Servo Systems Control, Actuation systems, knowledge of CMMI.
