Description
This privately owned, entrepreneurial manufacturing company (c.80 employees) has a fantastic customer base in the leisure sector and has enjoyed sustained growth in sales and profitability. Despite talk of the credit crunch and economic downturn this is a business confident that future growth prospects remain tangible and realistic. Sales are buoyant, but production struggles to keep pace and needs the talents of a skilled manufacturing expert to bring the equation back into balance.
Your key focus initially will be on improving manufacturing performance in this project-driven, batch production environment through application of appropriate improvement tools and good manufacturing practice. Your other immediate priority will be to assess your line management team and to provide them with professional leadership, clear direction and appropriate development. The remit also include inbound supply chain, control of external subcontractors, production planning and despatch operations.
This appointment is critical to the company’s future and you’ll have to bring considerable added value to the business. We’re looking for degree calibre candidates (probably with an additional business qualification) who combine strategic capability with effective hands-on results delivery. You’ll need acute commercial understanding, passion for customer satisfaction and a real desire for success. Your ability to change and improve production and operations environments has been proven.
