Description Overall responsibility for capacity planning, scheduling and work flow in the area of production. Directive to streamline processes and improve efficiency, through implementation of a structured control and monitoring system.
Scheduling of work load to the machine shop, assembly teams and polishing shop based upon works orders generated from the Sales Order Bill of Materials.
Define and set work rates and performance targets for shop floor operations.
Monitor & evaluate performance against the work rates & targets set.
Work closely with Sales, Project Management and Purchasing to meet agreed delivery dates and advise on available capacity to take on new orders.
Recommend & justify where necessary any additional resources required to meet the needs of the business.
Identify and implement where agreed with the Directors, improvements in manufacturing methods and/or practice.
Processing of sales orders to generate necessary works orders or purchase orders. Taking "Make or Buy" decisions.
Activating works orders and issuing to shop floor.
Completing open operations on works orders.
Ensuring that delivery targets are achieved on time and in full.
Active monitoring and control of on-going costs.
Scheduling any down time necessary for routine repair and inspection of machinery.
Monitor all production employees including target setting, discipline and training to ensure high levels of productivity are maintained & the workforce is suitably skilled to meet the needs of the business (including holiday and sickness cover for key skills).
Attending Contract Review daily meetings, in conjunction with other departments, to monitor continued progress of all open projects aligned to their target output dates.
Other duties as required.
Proven experience in a similar role within a multi component production build environment.
Qualified Engineer with knowledge of Manual Turning, Manual Milling, Cold Press work.
Previous MRP experience.
Strong IT skills (MS Office and planning tools).
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to work extended hours as and when the needs of the business dictate.
Good team player.
Possess own transport.
Willingness to travel both nationwide and internationally as required.
Extended/Additional hours may need to be worked as and when required to meet demand.
Preference to live within 20 mile radius of Christchurch / Bournemouth area (even if re-located). | | |
