Our client is a leading global logistics provider who currently has an opening for an Import Customer Services Co-ordinator based in their Air Freight department.
Main duties and responsibilities within this position will be to provide consistently excellent customer service, liaise with overseas agents, provide selling rates and give quotations, customs clearance, arrange transport and costing of files.
Other aspects of the position will include invoicing, reclaims, checking and monitoring of arrivals, invoice queries and other duties on an ad-hoc basis as required. Please be aware that occasional weekend work may be required to meet the needs of the business, though the successful applicant will receive time off in lieu of this.
The successful applicant to this position will be educated to at least GCSE standard or equivalent, with good organisational skills and the ability to organise and prioritise work to ensure that deadlines are met, having good communication skills and high attention to detail.
You will be fully computer literate with demonstrable team player qualities and previous experience of providing customer service within a freight forwarding environment.
In addition, candidates must have demonstrable Air Freight/Imports knowledge and experience of meeting deadlines.
Detailed knowledge of operational systems, preferably FCL knowledge, experience in working with worldwide customers, clients and agents, and also operational experience including customs clearance and arranging deliveries would also be required.
