Description
RF Engineer
Designing on-chip passive components, development of simulation tools.
Key Responsibilities:
On-chip passive component design. Examples include inductors, transformers, baluns, capacitors and interconnect lines.
Simulation of passive structures using 3D and 2.5D field-solving simulators.
Setting up test benches, analysing simulation data and comparing it to measured data.
Building equivalent lumped models, based on simulation and measured data, for passive and active networks.
Investigation and simulation of coupling mechanisms between two or more on-chip passive structures.
Investigation and simulation of packaging to quantify interaction between packaging and on-die structures.
Providing layout and floor-planning guidance and support to analogue/RF designers.
Calibration of field solver simulation setup against measured data provided by the foundry.
Development of source code to integrate simulation tools into a common design environment.
Cadence: simulation and layout for test chips.
Measurement of test chips - wafer level and board level.
Required:
Masters or Ph.D in electronics, or equivalent experience
Sound knowledge of electromagnetic theory and 3D electromagnetic field solvers.
Experienced in RF engineering skills: component level, circuit level, system level, and propagation.
Familiar with simulation tools (Ansoft Designer, HFSS, Agilent Momentum, Spice simulators)
Familiar with RF measurement instruments, measurement methods, calibration and de-embedding methods.
Desired:
Knowledge of AutoCAD, Matlab, high-level languages.
Experienced in using Cadence.
Knowledge of silicon process technology
Excellent written & verbal communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Self-starter who has the ability to identify and exploit new opportunities.
Can play a leading role in technology development
