Description Renishaw are currently seeking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to provide software development within the CMM division. The primary focus of the role will be to continue the development of the control system for Renishaw Revo and Gyro 5 axis scanning heads.
KEY OUTPUTS AND DELIVERABLES:
• To create analysis and design documentation to support the software • Writing and testing the real-time control code • To document software test specifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:
All applicants are required to have the following:
• A degree of grade 2:2 or above in a relevant subject • A good background in embedded system design and implementation • Full extensive knowledge of the C programming language • A good understanding of 3D geometry and algorithm design • The ability to estimate development timescales and produce high quality design documentation
Although not essential, it would be desirable if applicants have the following:
• Knowledge of the Qnx Momentics integrated development environment (useful for the real-time controller development) • Some familiarity with Microsoft’s component object model (COM) - this is used to provide an API to the real-time system • Some experience of C# development - as the user interface used to commission the real-time controller utilises this language • Familiarity with Yourdon structured design methods

PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The successful applicant will be an analytical thinker with an organised and ordered approach to work. They will demonstrate an attention to detail and be practical and hands on. The individual will possess good communication skills, being particularly skilled at writing programs and reports.
LOCATION:
This role is based at our New Mills site at Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
