Description
SENIOR CONTROL SYSTEMS ENGINEER / BUCKS / TO £42K
The Electromagnetic Systems Technical Centre designs and develops advanced electric motor drive systems, generator systems, electromagnetic devices and power electronics.
A Control Engineer is required to work within ESTC to help develop the next generation of high performance electric motor drive systems for aircraft applications. The role will involve the design and development of control electronics and control strategies for motor drive systems. The work will involve the support of existing customer programmes, the development of systems for future aircraft platforms and technology research.
Experience of control system design and analysis is required and experience of motor control strategies and hardware design would be beneficial, along with some or all of the following.
?s-domain and z-domain control system design and analysis
?FPGA, DSP and micro-processor technologies
?VHDL coding and auto-coding techniques
?Electrical motor technologies; ?Brushless DC, Brushless AC, Switched Reluctance, Induction, synchronous
?Motor control techniques
?Simulation of electrical machines and drive systems with SABER and Matlab / Simulink
?Understanding of power electronics issues in relation to motor control | | |
