Description
Our client now requires a Manufacturing Engineer at their Galway facility. The Manufacturing Engineer will report directly to a senior engineer and will be responsible for supporting production activities, moving production lines and supporting the new layout.
Job Responsibilities:
· Determine optimum layout for the production line.
· Work as part of production support team to drive product and process improvements.
· Generating IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and reports for line equipment along with generating operating procedures, PM procedures as well as setting up good manufacturing practices.
· Manage the movement of equipment and complete all necessary validations.
· Preparation of capital expenditure requests, source and specify equipment, liaising with vendors, in-plant installation and training of operators.
· Applying Lean principles identify and develop improvements that increase key process metrics of yield, throughput and productivity.
· Responsible for managing the overall equipment performance (OEE) through the appropriate use of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques.
· Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are fulfilled
Key Requirements:
· Engineering degree or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience.
· Project management skills and the ability to lead and direct a diverse team.
· Motivated to work on own initiative.
· Excellent attention to detail, problem solving skills and an ability to communicate effectively.
· Knowledge of Medical Device development/manufacture, although not a requirement, may be an advantage.
· Knowledge of six sigma and lean manufacturing principles.
· Computer literate.
· Experience in AutoCAD.
