Description
Automation Engineer now required for leading Manufacturing Multinational in the Food Sector.
The Role:
This position will involve becoming part of that team to deliver process control and automation solutions that meet the continuous improvement requirements of the company’s production operations. This includes overseeing vendor delivered implementations and projects completed in-house. Continuous support in the form daily problem solving for all factory operations forms part of role.
Responsibilities:
· Automation systems support, modification and development
· Key automation engineer on designated projects
· Complete design and implement systems for production within agreed timelines
· Provide practical innovative solutions to production technical problems
· Production and utilities technical support
Specific Pre-requisite Skills:
· Must have PLC programming experience (preferably Siemens range)
· Must have Scada/HMI experience (preferably Wonderware suite)
· Project management and delivery
· Reasonable instrumentation and process control knowledge
Desirable Skills:
· Database development & reporting
· Knowledge of Robotics, Pneumatics and Electrical systems
Aptitude:
· The candidate must be self-motivated and be able to quickly ramp-up on the understanding of existing process systems and automation design.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills as interacting in a professional and courteous manner with other functions will be required.
· Capable of working both as part of a team or autonomously.
Requirements:
· Minimum 5 years post graduate experience.
· A third level qualification, degree or diploma depending on experience.
· Knowledge of Food industry processes would be advantageous
Additional Criteria
· English language both written and spoken
· Willingness to work in other locations for short terms as required
· Flexibleworking time
· After hours support and callout roster
