Description
A key vacancy exists in Engineering for a Program Manager to join Cummins Turbochargers, based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. Reporting to the World Wide Program Team Leader, the responsibility of the Program Manager will be to manage projects, for a given engine/turbocharger range;critique and recommend improvements to the New Product Introduction and APQP process; share best practices with other programme managers and leaders. You will be required to lead a cross-functional and sometimes international team with a minimum of direct management. The Team will normally be made up of non-direct reports and emphasis is on the management of internal processes and direct linkages with Customer Program timing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage entire programme via the review process – hold team accountable to the review process/APQP process and ensure projects fall within scope of product plan guidelines
• Eliminate barriers to team progress within/outside team
• Head the decision making process set pace, encourage input, deal with conflict ambiguity
• Work with product/account team leaders, to ensure right processes are in place to meet customer needs fully and quickly
• Remove barriers to integration across functional perspectives
• Develop understanding of key customers overall New Product Introduction programmes and ensure consistency with Cummins Turbo Technologies New Product Introduction projects
• Develop meaningful measures and report progress against them
Essential Skills
• Degree or equivalent (Tech/Business)
• Considerable experience with new product introduction (combination of e.g. technical/sales/commercial).
• Project Management, problem solving experience.
• Automotive industry knowledge.
• Customer Support experience.
APQP process knowledge.
