DESIGN ENGINEERS
MAJOR STEEL/METALS INDUSTRY EQUIPMENT
BASED CHRISTCHURCH, DORSET
The Aluminium department are looking to recruit Design Engineers for roles in the Aluminium business segment. As Design Engineer you will be responsible for the production of mechanical designs and associated information including technical enquiries and order documentation, calculations, drawings, schedules, time cycles and maintenance data, the provision of relevant information to the civils, fluids and electrical/automation functions and monitoring and technical control of the subcontracted designs/details as required, both in the home office and at the subcontractors office.
You will take part in and contribute to design and safety reviews for the mechanical engineering elements under their control and ensure that the design and detailing of mechanical equipment is: technically correct, carried out to the required standards; in accordance with the project specification programme and budget; in accordance with relevant Health and Safety Legislation.
Ideally you will be educated to HNC/HND level in mechanical engineering or have suitable professional experience in a relevant industry.
You will have a proven engineering background, be computer literate with knowledge of CAD systems. Ideally you will have experience of mechanical design for steelworks plant, installation and commission of steelworks plant and equipment and use of Autocad, a 3D CAE package, eg: Solid Edge and Mathcad.
