Description
Dedicated to building and sustaining a world class enterprise, that sets the standard on an international basis, Cummins Power Generation in Kent (CPGK) is part of a global power systems business, operating at the forefront of new applications in continuous power generation. Reporting to the Value Stream Manager, the Test Supervisor will supervise the production team for Test; ensuring a five rolling day weekly program is delivered to the annual operating plan (AOP), meeting with production safety and quality guidelines to ensure product delivery is matched against the production plan.
Duties include daily supervision of production team activities, overseeing a five day rolling shift pattern of days/evenings and night shift, ensuring that test output meets the production plan, monitor consumable expenditures, supervise shift, overtime and out-of-hours working as and when required, ensure labour bookings captured in order to achieve 95% line efficiency, ensure execution of training plans and delivery on the job training, manage test team administration task and ensure that clocked hours match all booked hours, issuing predefined labour utilisation and efficiency reports, on weekly basis.
The role also involves being responsible for health and safety for all employee activities undertaken within assigned test area, expedite resolution of all problems or issues affecting quality, productivity, campaigned rework, Stop Shipments, and customer delivery, ensure Material / Labour booking sheets are correct and complete prior to submission to Production Control, ensure all products are tested to Engineering / Quality specifications and be responsible for ensuring test equipment is checked and maintained in accordance with operator care guidelines, and initiates necessary action as appropriate to bring back into compliance.
All applicants should preferably have Served a recognised apprenticeship, have a City & Guilds in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline and/or be Cat 1 Skilled level in Mechanical or Electrical and all applicants must be highly Microsoft Office proficient to include Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Applicants should also be consistently able to demonstrate achieving production targets, able to motivate and control test operators, have strong written and verbal communication skills, preferably have good appreciation of Cummins Power Generation product range and/or automotive background and a willingness to gain Senior Authorised Person (SAP | | |
