Description

The company, headquartered in Huddersfield, has been designing turbochargers since 1960 under the Holset brand. It now has manufacturing plants located in Europe, North and South America, China and India to ensure support for engine and vehicle makers across the world.
A key vacancy exists in Engineering for a Controls/Electrical Components Engineer/ Mechatronics Engineer. The purpose of this role is to support the development of electrical or electromechanical components for use with turbochargers. Such components could include sensors, actuators which may be electromechanical, electropneumatic or electrohydraulic and other similar products. Working in multi disciplinary teams and also with the suppliers of such components, you will be responsible for specifying the components and the subsequent validation and approval of components for applications. In addition the role may involve the development of control strategies for turbocharger products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Development of electrical and electronic components to meet future turbocharger requirements
• Validation and approval of components to meet New Product programmes
• Development of Product Preceding Technology to suit future requirements
Essential Skills:
Degree (or equivalent) in electrical, electronic, mechatronic or mechanical engineering
• Mechatronic design
• The application of mechatronic components to engines
• Durability and validation testing
Control system design
