Description
Join Cummins’ manufacturing support team in Stamford, providing manufacturing engineering and quality support to an assigned area of manufacturing. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering group Leader, as Manufacturing / Quality Engineer, you will be providing support, project work on new design introduction and implementation of the company manufacturing/quality strategies within your sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Propose, manage & implement manufacturing / quality related projects including budgetary controls to agreed schedules.
Identify the optimum method of manufacturing for new products and product modification ensuring that quality is built into the process. Safety risks are adequately assessed and considered, fail-safing and mistake proofing wherever possible.
Resolution of customer complaints using the quality cotrol process including customer interface where necessary.
Day to day support of an assigned area of manufacturing dealing with any manufacturing/quality issues as they arise. Contact with suppliers as necessary to resolve supplier caused showstoppers & issues.
Produce specification/ justification for new plant facilities and tooling in Iiaison with all relevant departments and manage commission of such equipment and all contact with suppliers.
Lead improvement teams and support Kaizen activities and TBWS.
Involvement and support of Six Sigma projects as directed.
Establish and introduce standards, developing and maintaining manufacturing documents for the assigned area.
Define and implement process capability measures and improvements.
Support and maintain conformance of the Quality Management system and any associated activities
Essential Skills:
Degree/HNC level in an Engineering discipline and/or suitable relevant experience.
Manufacturing experience
Knowledge of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001
Mapics/PC skills
