Description A Customer Quality Team Leader position has arisen for someone with a mechanical or electrical engineering background with Cummins Power Generation (CPGK) in Kent. The role is reporting to the Quality Manager, the Customer Quality Team Leader will be responsible for providing a lead in customer focus to all aspects of the CPGK manufacturing operations, under the direction and in support of the Quality Manager.
Dedicated to building and sustaining a world class enterprise, that sets the standard on an international basis, CPGK is part of a global power systems business, operating at the forefront of new applications in continuous power generation.
Duties include acting as a primary contact within Quality department for customers, lead communications on CPG performance to the Operations / Sales and Marketing and Engineering functions, lead customer visits to understand their concerns / feedback actions, own customer concern to resolution of the improvement plans, liaise with Quality Engineers and other CPGK departments in order to implement improvements and set example as customer representative within shop floor. The role also includes keeping customers in communication loop regarding their reported issues, be the primary contact for any returned customer product, manage the Customer Management database, manage the Customer Quality Technicians and the Customer Quality Administrator in day to day activities and lead internal customer quality issues within the group.
All applicants must have a good standard of written and oral English, excellent numeracy, served a recognised apprenticeship (Preferred), an HNC/Degree in a Mechanical or Electrical discipline and a Degree in Quality Management preferably and a second language is preferred. Applicants must also preferably have Industrial experience as a customer facing Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment, knowledge of High value, low volume manufacturing, experience of internal / external auditing, experience of using the 5 whys, FTA, C&E, 8D/7-Step, Pareto, SPC, be able to give presentation of trends, pareto charts and identifying problem areas through analysis and be a highly effective Communicator on all levels.
