Description D3 Technologies Ltd, a subsidiary of Renishaw plc, is a dynamic R&D company that develops ultra sensitive detection systems based on nanotechnology, to provide analytical solutions for both clinical and biopharma laboratories. D3 are currently seeking an Analytical Chemist for Molecular Diagnostics.
KEY OUTPUTS AND DELIVERABLES:
• To support product development with clinical collaborators and provide a core knowledge base for the company in the area of chemical analysis, specifically SERRS analysis. • To provide continuity from assay design though manufacture and clinical user assessment to CE marking and product launch. • To provide technical assistance and training to customers. • Supporting, training and mentoring junior members of staff to expand their knowledge base.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:
All applicants must have the following:
• A PhD in an appropriate field or equivalent relevant industrial experience • Expertise in analytical techniques focusing on spectroscopy and Raman • A broad knowledge base of molecular biology and general biology • Excellent communication skills
Although not essential, it is desirable if applicants have the following:
• Industrial experience in assay design and bringing a product to market • Expertise in dealing with notified bodies • Expertise in CE marking • Expertise with statistical analysis methods
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The individual in this position should have a precise and analytical mind-set, with the capacity for learning and absorbing new ideas and techniques, and the ability to look at the broad picture while maintaining a sharp focus on the short term. They should be self motivated, be capable of acting alone and as part of a team, and be able to handle pressured situations should they arise. The individual will occasionally need to be flexible in their working hours.
