Description D3 Technologies Ltd, a subsidiary of Renishaw plc, are currently seeking a Graduate Analytical Chemist for a 9 month contract. The individual in this position will primarily assist in the preparation of modified and labelled nanoparticles for use in SERRS detection.
KEY OUTPUTS AND DELIVERABLES:
• Preparation of labelled, stable nanoparticles • Evaluation of SERS/SERRS performance • Creation of dry particles and pastes and evaluation of these systems as SERRS tags
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERTISE:
All applicants are required to hold a degree in chemistry or another related discipline, which is graded as 2:2 or above. It is also desirable if applicants have an interest in analytical chemistry and a desire to work on an interdisciplinary project.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The successful applicant will be motivated, accurate and reliable. The individual will also be flexible to work in different areas of materials science as and when required.
OPPORTUNITIES FOR CAREER DEVELOPMENT AND TRAINING:
Full training will be provided by D3 staff in nanoparticle preparation, labeling and evaluation. The project could lead to further work and an opportunity for more in depth training.
LOCATION:
This role is based at Nova Technology Park in Glasgow.
