Description
Design Engineer required for a pool specialist company. Ideally someone with some contact administration functions. The ideal candidate must have experience in HVAC. The position is a combined role of design engineering and contract management.
The design aspect involved the designing and co-ordination of indoor Swimming Pools and in particular the heating and ventilation and poll water treatment schemes. Calculations and AutoCAD drawings leading to the design of the pool air handling, filtration, boiler plant and ancilliary hot and cold water systems. Layout of the pool shell, its findings and filtration plant would normally be part of these works. The design works would also lead to the provision of outline design drawings for control panels to be built in the “in house” panel workshop.
The contract management aspect would include liaising with clients, architects and main contractors. Drawings will be issued for quotes from duct suppliers and these would be co-ordinated and negotiated. The position would eventually lead to co-ordination roles with the in house labour alongside the present design staff.
Skill / Experience: Familiar with AutoCAD and able to produce design drawings in a timely and accurate manner. Familiar with general building design and able to convert this knowledge into layout drawings. Experienced in heating and ventilation system design (HVAC) ideally including
• Building heat loss calculation
• Ductwork sizing and air flow calculations
• Boiler plant design and pipework sizing
Some knowledge of electrical circuit design would be an advantage, knowledge of swimming pool systems, and chemical dosing would be an advantage but training in these subjects is available.
