Description The Maintenance Engineering Shift Manager's role will be to manage, organise and control the engineering and building services in order to operate and maintain the mechanical and electrical infrastructure, which are essential to the continuous operation of the client's Data Centres.
The Data Centres are major sites, which include highly sensitive and critical data processing Areas, office areas and complex engineering systems. As part of IT Operations, the Data Centre Facilities Management (DCFM) team have technical and specialist skills to ensure that the critical engineering services are operated, maintained and constantly upgraded as technology advances. Teams will undertake all electrical and mechanical installation, alteration and maintenance work to support the highly sensitive and critical data processing and engineering areas.
Maintenance Engineering Shift Managers will be responsible for:-
?Managing the operation and maintenance of the complex engineering systems, ensuring that work is completed to the correct standards, within agreed timescales and with no disruption to IT Services
?Developing and implementing effective emergency planning and escalation procedures to ensure system recovery is achieved with minimum impact to services
?Scheduling and managing any essential maintenance of the engineering systems, organising the engineering support and ensuring that the work is completed within agreed timescales and ensuring current Health & Safety legislation and statutory requirements are met. Detailed planning will need to be undertaken to ensure IT Services are maintained when installation, maintenance and change activity are in progress.
?Managing within the Engineering Department budget by regularly monitoring expenditure to ensure that a cost effective quality service is provided at all times.
Equipment to be maintained includes air conditioning, fire alarms, CCTV coolers, chillers, HV / LV and UPS systems.
The job holder must be M&E and 16th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations qualified and will need to have acquired a range of technical and managerial experience from a proven track record within a Data Centre critical environment.
Engineering Shift Managers will work a pattern of 12 hour shifts and will be remunerated with a salary in the £45K to £49K range, plus excess hours allowances, annual bonus, performance-related pay increases and a generous benefits package.
