Description Posistion: Quality Engineer
Salary : £22,000-£25,000 + benefits
Location : Bristol
Contract Type: Permanent
As a result of sustained growth, a new and exciting position has been created for a Quality Engineer to assist the Quality Manager. The jobholder will be required to make a real input into the development of our business systems covering quality, Health & Safety and environmental management, and you will be expected to contribute to the management of project and product quality. Your role will include the development of project management systems, undertaking audits and performance monitoring, leading on various quality engineering activities, and monitoring the Companys compliance with Health & Safety and environmental legislation. You will be a key member of the Companys operations team in a role that will develop with the Company. You will also be required to work externally with customers on a range of consultancy projects.
Initial training will be given where required to support the jobholder in developing the necessary skills and knowledge to fulfill the role. An ongoing package of training will be available to support professional development leading to a range of opportunities to take on more responsibility and develop in the role.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Report to the Operations/Quality Manager and, when required, the Operations Director regarding specific matters relating to product and service quality.
2.Provide support to the Quality Manager in the assurance of project and product quality, ensuring Company and customer expectations are being met in full.
3.Assist in the Companys programme of quality auditing, oversee customer feedback and complaints, and monitor key quality performance indicators.
4.Under the guidance of the Quality Manager, involvement with quality engineering activities, including the selection, rating and approval of suppliers, quality planning, and the quality assurance of delivered Company products.
5.Assist in implementation of changes to the Companys quality management systems, and managing elements within a programme of quality improvements.
6.Development and delivery of training and support to all staff to ensure continued adherence to Company processes and procedures.
7.Assisting in additional Operations Management activities in a number of diverse areas including Health & Safety, Environment and Export Control.
8.Work externally with customers on a range of consultancy projects as required.
Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:
The jobholder should possess a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering, Science or Computing discipline.
The jobholder may be a graduate looking to gain looking to build upon their academic knowledge and gain wide ranging exposure in the engineering consultancy sector. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate an interest in Quality Management and with particular aspirations to develop skills to move towards a Software Quality Assurance role. The jobholder will need to be diplomatic and confident, both when dealing with customers and when completing internal auditing.
Additional skills required include:
Influencing and management of change.
Quality System Auditing, including internal auditing, second-party supplier approval.
IT skills in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
