Description
An interesting and varied opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, Development Engineer or Component Engineer to work for a major international non-automotive manufacturing company
Design & Development Engineer
Salary: £27-32000
Location: West Midlands area ( commutable from Birmingham, Redditch, Worcester, Bromsgrove areas)
Working within a large Research and Development team your role will ensure that all products are designed and manufactured to conform to specification plus product and international standards.
Duties:
· Mechanical design of new products to meet customer and regulatory standards
. Specify components to ensure cost effective and high quality solutions.
. Develop and write test procedures for durability and reliability testing of mechanical and electrical components.
. Specify, design, build and commission test equipment.
· Ensure projects are completed to on time and to technical specification in conjunction with the design department
· Liaise with suppliers to develop technical solutions
· Provide support to manufacturing for new product introduction
· Liaise with the QA department to ensure continued technical compliance,
· Carry out product tests to ensure compliance
· Completion of technical and test documentation.
Experience:
· HNC/Degree Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
· Previous work experience gained in Design, Development, Product Reliability or similar engineering environment. 3D CAD modelling and analysis experience.
· Background in component product design, test and development for automotive, aerospace, electrical or domestic appliance manufacture.
. A working knowledge of heat exchangers, refridgeration or similar technology.
· Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and self motivation.
· Good analytical and problem solving skills, able to use work using own initiative.
