Description Main purpose of this role is to design and sell PCHE Heat Exchangers.
A Proposals Engineer is required to take enquiries from customers at the initial stage, assess the concept feasibility, make recommendations to aid the design of the equipment, and prepare estimates/bids/negotiations. Communications required with both project contractor and end user, along with all internal engineering departments. You should be commercially aware and have knowledge/experience of front end design, device design, estimates, quotations, negotiation and checking contracts. You will be 1 of 10 proposals engineers – mainly internally site based but will get out. There are also 4 sales engineers who are less technical and do the lead follow ups and such, but there is some cross functioning.
Specific Functions: -Thermal and mechanical design of compact heat exchangers -Preparation of estimates, commercial quotations and subsequent contract negotiations -Provision of support to progress the enquiry towards becoming an order -Working closely with the sales and marketing team, providing support on client visits, trade shows and other promotional activities.
Candidate should be: -Degree level education in either chemical or mechanical engineering -Demonstrable understanding of the principles of heat transfer and fluid flow -Good interpersonal skills -Willing to undertake international travel when required
Preferred Experience: -Mechanical design (ASME VIII/PED etc) -General oil/gas industry experience -Experience in OEM industry especially in design areas -HYSYS, HTFS -Process Engineering -Programming experience with spreadsheets and/or visual basic
