Description Summary of Role:
To hold overall Supply Chain Management, specifically to ensure the adoption of best practice processes and procedures in all aspects of direct day-to-day procurement, supply chain strategy, purchasing methods, control systems and supplier selection. The role will involve realizing opportunities for best value (lowest-cost at lowest-risk) sourcing from UK and global sources.
Key Tasks
-Provide leadership, management and strategic direction to the Supply Chain Team. -Identify competitive, capable suppliers and develop a supply base which provides the company with optimum service level at lowest cost. -Conduct negotiations on contracts and pricing in order to obtain a full range of services from those suppliers that meet planned performance targets -Establish partnerships and maintain supplier relationships to maximize supplier performance. -Manage supplier performance with regard to monitoring/improving quality, cost and delivery metrics, to include joint initiatives with suppliers where necessary. -Lead tactical make ‘v’ buy decisions -Any other tasks considered commensurate with your role by your Manager.
Person Definition
-A minimum of five years Strategic Supply Chain experience -Educated to Degree or CIPS level or equivalent -Extensive Negotiation Experience -Global Sourcing experience -Overseas travel and extended working hours will be necessary to deliver the above -Previous Manufacturing experience, preferably aerospace
Results Measures
-Ensuring inventory levels are commensurate with the business goal of 100% on-time-in-full customer deliveries -Achievement of best value (lowest-cost at lowest risk) targets -Setting and achievement of Supplier Performance Improvement targets -Setting and achievement of Supplier Cost Reduction targets -Setting and achievement of Lead-time Reduction targets
Previous manufacturing experience, preferably aerospace, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints, tolerance requirements, materials of construction, and processing requirements. Also must possess knowledge of metal removal and machining, castings and NDT requirements, quality requirements in an aerospace environment.
