Description
You will ensure that the company purchases its raw materials and packaging efficiently, cost effectively and to the appropriate quality standards.

Main Responsibilities
- Portray a positive image of the company and its values in a professional manner at all times.
- Provide support in sourcing new raw materials and raw materials reflecting current food and market trends.
- Support Purchasing Manager in ensuring appropriate stock of labels, capsules, lids and glass available to the supply chain
- Ensure the supply base holds appropriate levels of stocks of materials to meet the production requirements.
- To provide Purchasing Manager with clear and accurate information on the raw material purchasing position, contracts and any significant developments in relevant raw material markets.
- Provide the team with clear, accurate and timely product costs, and ensure that appropriate records are kept of these.
- Regularly update the costing database with the most current prices
- Keep records of supplier conformance to lead times.
- To seek ways to reduce costs, wastage and inefficiencies.
- To establish a professional and productive relationship with all departments within the company.
- To main a professional and constructive relationship with suppliers, ensuring that the interests of the company are always upheld.????
- To ensure that all suppliers are properly approved, their materials are ordered at the appropriate level of quality and supplied to the agreed specification, working in conjunction with the Technical team.
- To use best judgement to ensure that all materials and services are purchased at the best available price for the business.
- Assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the department in the Purchasing Manager's absence.
Key Skills and Experience
- Excellent administration skills.
- MS Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Good numeracy and analytical skills and able to pay attention to detail.
- Team player.
- Flexible in terms of hours of work.
- You will need to be a strong communicator and? have a friendly, confident manner.
Food industry experience.
- Previous experience within a purchasing environment.
