Key Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with other Category Managers and Procurement Enablement Teams.
- Liaise with other Category specialists to coordinate overlapping activities.
- Support Category Manager to deliver category, sourcing and uptake advice to Hubs and Confederations.
- Unite behind the strategic goals, vision and values and deliver the Directorate's targets.
- Adopt a risk management approach to all areas of own work in accordance with Risk Management Policy.
- Work with Category Manager to align personal objectives and PDP with the category work plan.
- Field enquiries about the service and either respond or refer to appropriate category.
- Track and forecast usage patterns, changes in user needs and subsequent category user demands.
- Work with Buyers to identify standardisation opportunities and facilitate agreement on new specifications.
- Work with Data Specialists to ensure customer data and spend analysis is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain own general knowledge of sourcing/coverage of the category's suppliers and products.
- Identify the need for sourcing; support the development of a specification.
- Provide a customer voice in supplier discussion.
- Involve clinical networks to secure best value contracts, which support improved patient care.
- Ensure contracts are considered on the basis of whole life and immediate costs and benefits.
- Develop relationships and networks with buyers and influencers in large NHS Trusts within a specific Region and promote national contracts.
- Ensure contract guidelines are applied to category cluster.
- Manage and prioritise project team activity.
- Provide progress updates.
- Train and develop staff as required.
- Apply appropriate tools/techniques.
