Description Our client is a leading supplier of ground based navigation aids for military, naval and civil aviation needs plus sophisticated direction finding equipment for the worlds navies, harbour authorities and coastguards.

A - Position Description 1. Scope of position: To carry out Inspection/Quality duties to ensure compliance with the Company’s standards of acceptability.
2. Key Responsibilities: 1.To liaise with Production, Sub Contractors and other departments with regard to goods which require inspection/rework. 2.To inspect assemblies for conformance to drawing. 3.To report any problems to the Quality Manager. 4.To maintain a log of problems. 5.To carry out line and patrol inspection tasks to check that the products meet the overall standards as laid down in the Company's documentation. 6.To assist in the maintenance of records of quality assurance documentation. 7. To carry out other duties as may reasonably be required.

4. Decision making authority:
The job follows laid down procedures and practices with regard to accepting rejecting and qualified acceptance of assemblies/goods received.
The inspector has the authority to sign off assemblies/goods received which he has accepted.
There is a responsibility to review and develop processes used in inspection/production quality areas.

Where items are not to specification, can they be used, are they acceptable.
Decisions made with the assistance of supervision and engineers B - Position Specifications 1. Formal Education & Training:
Literate and numerate to CSE level.
Training in the use of tools and equipment.
Training in the reading of drawings.
Trade training.
